When and Where?
4D ice cream is a food truck based out of Calgary Alberta in the spring and summer serving Liquid Nitrogen made ice cream in a house made croissant bowl, garnished with edible flowers and herbs all grown right there in the truck. Owner and Operator Ryan Doggart has made it his personal goal to renew a sense of wonder and curiosity in his patrons; you can expect interactive art installations, friendly passionate service, and an ever evolving menu that is sure to light up your somatosensory cortex.
What is the 4th dimension in the ice cream?
Time! will bring a unique multisensorial experience to the ice cream; imagine a freshly baked, flaky, and warm cornetti (Italian croissant)……………………Now add a scoop of perfectly balanced ice cream, not too dense, not too light, just silky smooth and delightful. As the ice cream melts in your mouth you feel the rich creaminess coat your palate, flavours are coming forward one by one, each getting a chance to perform. With time the flavour begins to change, you take a bite of your bowl and a new flavor joins the stage for an encore performnce.
Who and Why?
The business was conceived, funded, and built by Ryan Doggart. The business concept evolved over the span of 3 years; the catalyst for the concept was a curious sense of wonder, experimentation and a lust for dessert. Ryan began a project called dessert anthology shortly after graduating from Sait in 2010, the idea was to create a dessert blog that focussed on what dessert could be rather than what it was. Using a central theme coined existential baking Ryan experimented in all things sweet and delicious and continued to rethink dessert. From that came the idea of making a dessert using the 4th dimension (time) to create a truly unique dessert experience that changed as you enjoyed it. Six years and a few businesses later and here we are!
